What is Business Intelligence?
Business Intelligence (BI) is a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information which can be used to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision making. Its end result should be to transform the way information is used to assist any enterprise in moving forward towards growth. BI can be applied to the following purposes –
- Measurement – creating a hierarchy of KPIs;
- Bench-marking both within and outside the enterprise;
- Analytics that enable optimal decision making and business knowledge discovery;
- Data Visualisation – presenting the university data to the full range of staff in a clear and effective manner, enhancing data quality, decision making and knowledge;
